The
30 miler is the final part of the Commando test for Royal Marine
Recruits. This endurance event takes place over the harsh
conditions of Dartmoor, which is well known for the harshness of
it's ever changing conditions and it's rugged terrain.
The idea for a group of former Royal Marines
to complete this course was initiated by former RM and Author (Forced
Out) Simon Bywater on the Internet site
www.militaryforums.co.uk . This was taken up very
quickly by many who use the site as a means of keeping in touch.
With over thirty former RM's and also serving RM's and their
wives signing up for the event. The challenge has also been
taken up by former soldiers and their wives.
The aim, quite simply to get together and
raise money for charity. |
