Looking
Forward to NEXT YEAR ALREADY!
It comes as quite a shock
that people who took part this year were quite openly talking
about next year even whilst they were walking across Dartmoor.
Come on it's Only four
more miles! Has to be the saying of this years Yomp.
Well done to all who took
part, it was a great experience for all and the Saturday evening
saw quite a few special moments as well, in true Bootie style.
The raffle saw money
raised from the sale of donated items with Simon being seen to
get writers cramp after the first book signing, thanks Simon all
the money raised off the books went into the charity fund. The
sale of items donated by the Band, thanks to 'Sticky Blue' for
coming along for the evening, which included two sets of CD's
and a Corps bugle, the CD's raised £100 and the bugle raised
£800, someone is in for a hard time off his missus.
An idea started by Brian
Easton to keep us Northerners walking, has now been taken up by
many all over the country who attended. So the formation of the
RMYS (Royal Marines Yompers Society) can now be said to be well
under way. I am sure this will see many more people taking the
time to pop along and join in with one of the organised yomps.
